Primrose, Pale
primrose pale
yellow - unripe
under pine lie
roots shallow
all in wet
moist soil -
carries the joy of spring.
cut some - carry home
leaves for salad
petals for tea
the joy is yours now
her smile is gone
and your knees will hurt
each spring
as you remember
what you have done.
